What do I do with the bags and ice packs after my delivery?

We reuse certain Thistle packaging to help reduce waste. Thank you for keeping us sustainable! 

Returning bags & ice packs

• Please leave your empty Thistle bags and large white 64 oz ice packs where your new delivery is dropped off.
• Our team will collect and reuse them on your next delivery.
• We’re not able to reuse the smaller blue or white 16 oz ice packs at this time. 

How to discard your ice packs

1. Cut open the ice pack and compost the gel. They are 100% biodegradable and safe to handle. The Glacier Ice gel is 99.5% water and will dehydrate.
2. Do NOT pour ice pack contents down your sink or drain. It can cause clogs.
3. Rinse and recycle the poly-bags in a #4 recycling bin.

Other packaging info

• Food containers: rinse and recycle. We’re not able to collect these.
• Final delivery: If your account is cancelled or paused, you can keep, donate, or discard your Thistle bag and ice packs. 
  • We do not offer a drop off location, or pick up bags and ice once your service ends. You will not be charged for unreturned items.
• A note about ice packs: We are unable to accommodate requests to remove ice packs from deliveries.
