What do I do with the bags and ice packs once I receive my delivery?

We collect and reuse empty Thistle bags and large white 64 oz ice packs for future deliveries. We aren't able to reuse the blue or white 16 oz ice packs at this time. Leave your empty Thistle bags with the 64 oz ice packs where your new deliveries are made. You also do not need to keep the ice packs frozen between deliveries, unless you have the space and want to! Our gel ice packs are all 100% biodegradable, recyclable, and nontoxic.

How to discard your ice packs

1. We recommend cutting open the bags and adding the contents to your compost or anywhere you would dispose of grass clippings where pets do not have access. The Glacier Ice gel is 99.5% water and will dehydrate to 0.5% of its weight.
2. We *strongly* recommend NOT dumping it down your sink/drain as it can build up and clog.
3. Once you've disposed of the interior, the poly-bags that hold the gel are recyclable and can be put straight into the recycling bin.
4. The plastic may be rinsed free of gel and placed in a #4 recycle bin.

Currently we do not take back food containers.

If you haven't received your first delivery yet, then not to worry! You can put out your first bag at your second delivery.
